It great to see and all but he's not going to get any use out of that system now, is he? He'll only run it up to run wcpuid and maybe one benchmark, then he'll have to shut it down as the LN2 will be evaporating or warming up or whatever.

It's a show piece, not a usable system.

mmmmm.............3.1GHz on LN2 cooling.......i wonder who will be the first person to create a permanent LN2 cooler like the Prometrias..........yum........😀

Impressive for what is my question? Showing off? It is not uilitarian in nature that way so BFD 😉 I'm waaaay past these goobers with LN2&Vcores that will smoke their chip in short order posting their max overclocks impressing me, I'm not talking smack, I'm talking SMACKDOWN! If that troubles you then <Jeff Foxworthy impression> You might be a Fanboy 😉

So.. I take it that the system isn't stable at those speeds? I always considered an unstable system an unsucessful overclock.

Yeah you guys do have a good point. I bet he could get it to 2.9- 3 stable probably. It would be cool if he didn't have a geforce 4 mx 420 so he could break some records.

According to WCPUID's ranking site Holicho's the fastest Pentium 4 is/was a 3.06 overclocked to 4623.21mhz and the fastest AMD is/was a 2500+ XP overclocked to 3257.38mhz.

I am sure these have been broken and just not been reported, but still impressive for both of those overclocks. But neither one is that useful for obvious reasons, unlike Technonut (Anandtech member) actually running a 2.53 P4 at 3714.4mhz with his promedia rig and it was usuable.
