i heard about these athlon xp 1700+ on the t-bread b core that overclock super good. theres also stuff going around about a rumor in the numbers on the corner, is this related? one last thing, what are the different batches?

o... i think i just figured something out, the t-bred b core are better than than the bartons price/performance wise because the oc well, right?

wow thanks, that helps so much. so what this comes down to is should i oc a 1700+ and risk getting a crappy one, or get a 2500 barton and use it stock? im completely new to ocing, but i'll try it to save 50 bucks. also, can i expect either of them to reach 400 fsb by ocing?

i dont know, alot of people have oced the 2500+ to 3200+
I just installed my Barton 2500+ and it's doing 3200+ 200mhz synch mode on less than default voltage and once I'm done stability testing it I'll be shooting for 2.4-2.5ghz on air.

I'm exclusively Folding right now, I will go back to SETI at a later date 🙂

BG4533, Right now it's in a Soltek SL-75MRN-L (NF2 IGP chipset) and it's like a rock right now, I'm fairly certain the only thing that'll hold it back is the heat in my comp room :sun:

BTW, Brian, is that 3DNow! boost a new thing? because I don't think I've seen it before.

I know what 3DNow! is IRnotN00b 😛 So this new Gromacs stating that the extra 3DNow!boost is on isn't helping me eh? or could this new Gromacs be addressing that problem? Come on, you can't expect me to read that thread 😀
