$170 Radeon HD 2900GT 3DMark06: 14,235

3.7GHz Quad Core...hmmm. 3DMark scores are heavily CPU dependent though, an extra 0.5fps in the CPU test is adds like 2000 to the score though.
 
my system: 3.5ghz quad with my 8800Gt = 14,500

I would also like to add that this is TWO 2900GT's in crossfire to achieve the 14k mark.

While my ONE card does that score no problem.


2x 2900GT = 340

1x 8800GT = $240 (price I paid for my eVGA sc)


I do have proof of benchmarks if you would like to see.
 
OP's title and subtitle is HIGHLY misleading. 14,500 is the score for CROSSFIRE 2900GT's in 3dmark06. The score of 21,000 is on 3dmark05.

I see the 1280 x 1024 rez for the first test and 1024 x 768 rez for the second. I don't know enough about Futuremark or high end cards one way or the other. 14,500 for your 8800gt looks good.

What I'd like to see is $200 cards dropping down in the $120-$130 range. I've found a 7900gs for $100 - might pull the trigger on that one . . .

Not throughly impressive not to mention for some reason in Synthetics the 2900 series dominates but put it into real world it loses everytime to it's competitors especially in dx10.
 
This card is only little better than 8600gts in most games except Unreal 3.

Crossfire score 14000 in 3dmark2k6 isn't much. A single card probably would does 8000. My 8600gts does over 7000.
