I'm thinking of getting an LCD monitor some time soon. Yes I'll be doing some gaming, so I assume I need to look for a response time <= 16ms? Now the other thing is what size..
Right now I'm using a cheap old 17" CRT, resolution 1152x864. I've heard that some people say text and stuff are a little small and hard to read with a 17" LCD. I figure with the slight increase in viewing area with a 17" LCD, the "actual resolution" at 1280x1024 will be very similar to what I have now, which I'm fine with.
On the other hand, the only reason I can think of to go 19" would be hey, I'd like a big monitor.
But then I don't really know if it'd be worth the $100+ difference in price.
Also, since I'd like to have DVI on the monitor, I was looking at this one:

Anyone have that monitor and can comment on general/gaming usability?
And one last note, about ghosting. Up until recently I'd been going my gaming on my laptop (~2-3yrs old). I never noticed any ghosting there, but I have no idea what kind of panel/lcd it uses. Are desktop LCDs really different from laptop LCDs that ghosting is more of a problem?
