17" or 19" LCD

I have a particular 17" LCD in mind but not sure if I should go with a 19". I recently lost my 21" CRT so 17" seems like a dramatic change for me and the fact thats its from CRT to LCD adds to it. Pretty much going to be used for gaming only and fast-paced games so I'm not even sure if the LCD would help. Any suggestions on monitors would be great.

The one I'm looking at now:

Larger the better. Monitors are a one shot deal that usually follow you through several PC upgrades. Spend the extra and get a monitor you will enjoy for years.

Well the price isn't really the issue. The whole issue I had was that I thought 19" LCDs don't support 1280x1024 natively so the image sometimes looks stretched and distorted.

Not so - I have two 19-inch laptops - both with 1280x1024 native resolution. (View Sonic VX900) These are almost two years old.

Excellent now I could actually enjoy my monitor. Thanks for clearing that up guys if you have any suggestions on a 19" that would help.

Yeah thanks for the suggestion mariok2006 I just didn't say anything before but I've been reading up on the monitor. I pretty much narrowed it down to a Hyundai L90D+, a SyncMaster 930B and a SynchMaster 915N. Now I just gotta find which is the best. Thanks

Oh...have you looked at the Dell 1905FP? The reviewers here at Anandtech LOVE that monitor. In fact, if you have extra cash, get the 2001FP or FPW...
