I have brought my younger brother a 17" CRT Topcon Monitor late last year. And when i try switching to
1024 x 760 the windows icons are very small and the words are nearly unreadable. And today i came
to a friends house as he show me his new 17" monitor with WinXP and on 1024x760, the icons are
well sized and the word are bigger and readable.
Why is there such a different with two different 17" CRT Mon?? I notice the same thing happen
as a 15"LCD screen with 1024 x 760 looks better and well sized than my Good Old Sony 15" CRT
Monitor. What is going on?? Can any body told me how to solve this problem?? Could this be a graphics
card problem?? Because both me and my brother are using Savege 4 ( I know is very old but i haven't
had any spare money to upgrade my computer. )

well if it's just a matter of icons being too small and text being difficult to read... without changing your resolution you should be able to increase the size of these items. Go to Display Properties, this is how...(I'm using WinXP.. slightly different with Win9x OS's):

Right click on your desktop (anywhere) at the bottom of the menu that pops up click on Properties. Under properties go to the "appearance" tab and change the setting for "Font Size".

Also you can go to the "Settings" tab and then "advanced"....go to the "General" tab under the advanced properties and under that tab you should be able to adjust font size. Any kind of tweaking you need to do with font size, screen size, and Icon size should be adjustable through "Display Properties"
