It's a Samtron 17" monitor (Samsung's monitor brand). I got one for my mother-out-law last Christmas and they seem pretty decent. Not the sharpest picture, but nice bright colors.

Big, Samtron monitors are Samsung's lowend. (Kinda like a Lincoln is a nice Ford, but the other way around.) If you look on the box it says that Samsung makes it and warranties it.

BTW, for $109, that's a hell of a monitor. Wouldn't use it for my primary box, but I think I'll pick one up for a LAN party machine... =)

the model number is 75v
it's packaged in a brown box
at least in virginia, most of the stores are sold out, so you have to get a raincheck.

It's B&M, but it might be online (haven't checked their web site). It is DEFINATELY Samsung...it says right on the box. The Model is the 75V.

I saw this monitor in BestBuy the other night, and was not impressed with it compared with the higher-end Samsung 753df. It looked a little 'cheap' to me.... Could have been the 60Hz signal that was being fed to it :) It completely amazes me that these retail places can even SELL monitors when they've got a 60Hz refresh rate signal feeding the monitors, flicker hell!!! Truly unbelievable that NOT ONE employee in the store can catch that...

Samtron is basically Samsung's lower-end line. Same company, cheaper components. Not a bad deal for $109, but not exactly a hot deal either.

It's .27 dpi. Same as the Envision from Staples. I'd say they're about the same quality. The picture DEFINATELY does look better with a higher refresh rate.
