i had 0 probles with target direct few times that i ordered from them. Id be more worried about manufacturers rebate than tigerdirect. But this deal is much better than compusa/bestbuy $200+rebate
Id jump on it if not for the bleak financial future

The TigerDirect one is for the BLACK Cornea monitor. uBid has the WHITE FRAME available in their SuperStore for:
$375 - $50MIR + $2.49S&H = $327.50 shipped

[*]Link to uBid's 17-Inch Cornea Systems WHITE MP704W LCD Monitor
[*]Link to $50 Cornea MIR

Note: TigerDirect charges S&H. Their price w/ S&H will probably come out cheaper for most people; however, for some S&H may come out to more than $27.50 @ TigerDirect (at which point the uBid deal is better).

how do you know it's a Cornea brand? The Tigerdriect link says it's a "Famous Brand" monitor. Also, are those specs real? They sound pretty stinking good for a $300 17" LCD.

This is a PIECE OF CRAP monitor. I tried it 1 year ago when it was $499 after rebate from ecost.

There is no way the vertical viewing angle is 160 degrees (120 degrees PERHAPS). If I leaned back ever so slightly in the chair, the top of the screen went negative colors and the bottom got too bright.

Also it's nop 500:1 contrast, I dont even believe it's truely 400:1. If you have a full screen dos window (or anything significantly "black") it appears as grey, and the edges and top are actually light grey!!!!!

Absolutely horrible POS.

Go buy the 18.1" from Dell for $426 after all coupons and have a better chance. OR just buy the Dell 1702FP which has great viewing angles, no hot spots/negativity when you move in your chair, and BLACK is BLACK.

Stepdawg, you can tell by clicking on the Rebate link near the top of the product detail page. It goes to the MP704 rebate. My guess is Tigerdirect can't directly show the manufacturer's name, at that low of a price. It's a good $50 cheaper than Amazon (which only has the white one for $349 AR -- but, Amazon has free s/h and arguably better service. Also, you could use a coupon if you have one).

The Dell deal is DEAD now. I read in another thread that the LCD screen on this monitor was upgraded to a better one last November, and all current shipments should have the new one. Personally, I'm planning to get their 1702, which has DVI, S-video, AND TV tuner with remote for $499 (Pricegrabber.com).

Both reviews I found searching on google said it was a great monitor. Even good for gaming (one said no ghosting, other said very slight). I just ordered one, and I would post again once I get it, but by then rebate will probably be gone. Oh yeah, only thing that I have seen that was bad about monitor was the vertical viewing.

Don't be fooled by the reviews, I was. Good thing I had already gotten an even better deal on a Samsung 171v. The Cornea is a piece o crap. Not very bright and viewing angles sucked.
