I posted the 15" Liquidvideo for $199 a few weeks ago to little fanfare. I bought one anyway and love it. I looks great and is backed by Circuit City.

Well, here's the next deal on one of these. CC has the 17" LCD from Liquidvideo. Here are the specs:

Max Res: 1280 x 1024
370 nits
350:1 contrast
14ms Response time
.264 Dot Pitch
Built in speakers (sound like crap)
no DVI

12 months parts and labor by Circuit City (its their brand)

---

Looks interesting. Already being discussed, here.

Can't believe a 14ms LCD would not have DVI.
But then i wouldnt expect much out of a 280 dollar LCD monitor either.
You get what you pay i guess.

I saw these LCD's while shopping for one this weekend. CC was on my list of places to look. They do look very good, I almost bought one. But I couldn't find a decent review om how they are with gaming. I might still get one, but how is it as a gaming lcd.

afaik its been discussed on chubby wallet that 14ms response time is a mistake....
Other than that, analog to digital converters are fairly high quality nowadays as reported by tomshardware so paying extra for a dvi connectivity loses its appeal.

If they have one hooked up the quickest way to check and see if it is half way decent is to open up a window like windows explorer and drag it all around the desktop and see if can see the image trail itself. If not it is not that bad of a response time. Alot is made on the response time thing and not others like the contrast ratio and so on.

Yep the 14ms quoted is either the rise or the fall time but not both so this is probably a 25ms response time total. Not bad and will probably be just fine for gaming with the exception of the contrast ratio

I got this today and I think it works great! It might be blurry 'cause the brightness is too high but just mess with the contrast and brightness and this monitor looks great. I played some CS and had no problems with it. I love it! 😀
