17" Broken LCD Monitor

I have a slightly used 17" Magview LCD monitor from work. It was returned to us saying that it doesn't power up. I got it for free and am wondering if it is worth it to fix it and how to do it. It is in really good condition and the screen is perfect. I took it apart and checked for some obvious things but I am not an expert on LCD's having never owned one. I am fairly computer savvy so I think I might be able to fix it though. What are some things to check for, and how much would it cost to fix it. On visual inspection, nothing appears to be wrong with it. Any help?

Being computer savvy and being able to fix something like a broken LCD are not at all similar.
There may be a loose connection inside, or something friend inside.
Your best bet would be to either think about RMA'ing it (if you can ie: you have the reciept and stuff as well), or taking it to a TV/electronics repair shop and see what they make of it.
