16x AA / 16x AF

I have a BFG 6800GT and using coolbits 2 to overclock. I heard theres a way to enable 16x AA and 16x AF. Can someone tell me the hack.

my 6800NU in control panel has only 8xS, and 16aniso. but believe me, 16x dont look like its worth it. I still play some old dx7 games, UT mods and such. i use highest resoultion and 8sAA + 8xAF....OMG, i never knew it looked so good. plus its not a slideshow, if ur playing really old games. for doom3, farcry, it has to be low res, 2 or 4x AA. dont bother with 16x, makes very little difference.

Honestly anything above 4xAA and you probably wont even notice.

I can barely see the difference from 2x to 4x.

But 16Xaa is not possible atm and even if it was able to be enabled. I bet you could only play really old games with it. 🙂

The only graphics card that I know of that is capable of 16xAA is the Matrox Parhelia. Even Quake 1 would probably be a slideshow on that card at that setting.

The person on the forum probably didn't know what he was talking about, or else he confused AA with AF.

I disagree; always use it over 8x.

nvidias 8x AA is supersampling as well isnt it?
4xMSAA + 2xSSAA.

By name only. It isn't really 16x in the standard sense.

It's not that slow mainly because it doesn't do that much. IIRC it does even less than MSAA does.

You can enable hidden 4xRGMS + 4x4OGSS mode using RivaTuner, which is theoretical 16xFSAA. It's not a very practical mode, though.
