Thanks for the stats biodoc :)

It is, I think, as long as it's not driving a GPU that's also Folding. I am using half the logical cores on a 3700X to fold while it is also feeding a folding GPU, and even using just half slightly impacts the ppd of the GPU. Going with the stock Fahcontrol configuration of all cores minus one is a disaster for modern GPUs, imo.
Curious, but I'm not sure if my GPU counts as modern anymore, lol, it's an RX 580 which is a slightly higher clocked RX 480 (although I've underclocked it to 480 levels to cut power usage), wiki says it was released in June 2016!
Anyway, atm I'm running WCG on 10 threads, so 1 physical core for F@H GPU, I think that's enough for it?

What ppd is 1/4(?) of your 3700X giving?

I’m folding with 28 CPU on my 5950 and 12 CPU on my 2700x. The 5950 is repeatedly crashing with WHEA errors - I may need to RMA it
What ppd is the 2700X giving?

It will produce another 200K to 300K once I shut chrome and HWinfo64 down.
Wow! Is that the ppd difference on CPU+GPU folding? Have you seen what shutting down just HWinfo64 does? (I run that btw, an excellent monitoring program :)). Perhaps it's the GPU polling that's causing that drop??

Thank you for the stats update today, @biodoc :)

The Moonshot Gang overtook us o_O But yeah, no surprise and just a matter of time given their current advantage in production... But now they are the hunted... A role they didn't have for long time... Let's see how they'll get along with that! We'll lurk in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to strike back... The previously mentioned Return of the Cheering Gerbils :cool: From now on, they'll have to constantly look in their rear view mirror and can't afford any mistake... A war of nerves... The "Jaws" theme has started playing... There's something in the deep... coming closer... closer... :D

Well, worth switching over I guess! Seeing as it'll make no real difference to power consumption.
Hmm, I turned the tap off for WCG earlier this afternoon, but I still have WUs to crunch, but switching sooner would be better!....

Oh and happy xmas/hols all :)

2018 = ~1B points. 1 = technically not a prime number, since it has to be greater than one.
2019 = ~2B points. 2 = prime number
2020 = ~3B points. 3 = prime number

This year approaching ~5B points. 5 is also a... prime number.

Assuming 2017 was like 2018, this could also be a Fibonacci sequence. We'll have to see next year if we get ~7B or ~8B. :)

Just remembered I had this in my notes:oops:, from the beginning of this year.

Main rig
RX 580 ~400k ppd
Ryzen 5 3600 ~90-144k ppd, mostly 100-110k ppd (total power draw ~225w, GPU 1266 MHz)

2nd rig (600w OCZ PSU)
HD 7870 XT ~ 160-200k ppd (total power draw ~253w, CPU idle)
i7 4930k @4.1 GHz ~55-104k pdd, mostly 55-60k ppd (total power draw ~335w)

Thank you for the X-Mas stats, @biodoc :)

Wow, the Moonshot Gang definitely enjoy their role as the hunted, just as I thought :cool: Most of us will be distracted by the Christmas preparations and celebrations, so there's not much we can do to stop them... Also, we must allow our beloved cheering gerbils a little X-Mas break, so they can catch their breath and have a good time before they'll put a smile on our faces again, when they'll announce: We'll be back! (with a slight Austrian accent of course :D)

Enjoy the holidays everybody :)

When is Biodoc going to lock the teams again? It's getting cold here and I want to fire up more junk?

When is the new year? :)
He said teams are locked. Fire everything up, we will loose at this rate.

Switch to Alzheimers as a disease preference. The 18201 tasks produce 2.6 M PPD on my Radeon VII.

@Kiska turned the tables...
With the current EOC update, the Marauders are a tiny bit faster again than the Moonshots.

Thanks once more, @biodoc, for your work with the stats, even on the holidays :)

The Moonshot Gang are still marching on! But it seems we might have hit the equilibrium during the latter half of the day... We'll see tomorrow whether this lasts or if it was just a coincidence. Still five more days and almost 21 million points to catch up... Maybe we can do it. With @Kiska's optimized VII in the race, @Markfw throwing 1,000s of cores at the race and our beloved cheering gerbils returning from their holiday break... Everything is possible :)
