Aren't all 7" tablets that res? And can you flash it to be a normal Android tablet?

I thought the bootloader was locked on those nook tablets, which means they can't easily be reflashed with a custom rom etc. I could be wrong though. The kindle fires I think have a lot of roms available because the bootloader is not locked.

Should be just like the nook color - can pop in and boot right off a MicroSD card.

Yeah I think he's right. The nooks have been unlocked the whole way, one of the things that made them so popular, I don't see why B&N would suddenly reverse thier thinking and lock them down.

I believe the bootloader is locked, but someone found a way around it.

I have both a Nook Color and Nook Tablet running Cyanogenmod, incredibly easy to modify the recovery.img and boot.img with a USB cable using ODIN.
