Hey,, there, Igor! [My initial backup has started per the other threads. I'll have anxiety until I see it's completed at least 50%.]
He's got a Ryzen system. I don't understand why one would purchase RAM with such a high CAS latency of 22. Or why you'd want RAM with 2400 DDR.
I bought my G.SKILL RAM five years ago -- DDR4-3200 14-14-14. Another system I'm building will use G.SKILL Rip-Jaws with CAS 16.
Is this about price?! The RipJaws -- not necessarily Ryzen compatible but I wouldn't know -- were about $120 for a 2x16GB pair. HOW CHEAPLY can you get a RAM kit of ANY performance spec?
It just seems to me that for building a system, a kit for $120 is a decent price. I always try to buy performance RAM, but I'm happy with DDR4-3200. And these are older systems -- no good for Win 11 unless I want to try the hacks being discussed lately. My TridentZ DDR4-3200 14-14-14 GTZR's were about $250 for a 2x16GB kit. I wanted to configure 64GB for this second system now in the works, so I bought the cheaper Rip-Jaws with CAS 16.
