he must be single.

there're no woman crazy enough to stay with a guy who would do something like that.

Actually Gary Rothwell does a lot of his motorcycle stunt shows with his wife on the bike for some of the stunts. I saw him a few years ago at Road Atlanta...some of the stuff he did made my jaw bounce off the ground.

....and I am surprised that the wheels on the rollerblade can hold up to that kind of punishment!

He did do it on a closed raceway. That=smooth surface. But I don't know how the barrings didn't sieze up. I've skated for a long time and have had a wheel lock-up on me going down a slight hill, and I wiped out hard.

Auer?s blades were attached to ski-style boots and fitted with five wheels ? which Dunlop designed specifically to cope with the high temperatures ? and had cooling ducts around them.

These weren't standard blades.

wow... as an aggressive rollerblader, i am quite impressed... 'skitching', as holding onto cars is commonly called, is quite difficult... at 35 mph, you feel like you're just blazin', and after a while it gets harder to just hold on... then again, i've never done it with a motorcycle, just with a car...

also, those are no ordinary rollerblades... aggressives skate boots i believe could hold up, but i don't think the bearings, nor the wheels, nor the frames would last at that speed...

again... wow.

I used to rollerblade a lot.. I'd hold on to the spoiler of my friend's car and he would go up to 35mph... At 35mph, it seems like it is the MAX speed possible on rollerblades... any more and it would be impossible to correct the straightness of the path quick enough.

168mph is just crazy.. totally nuts

I do 160 (indicated...prolly more like 150-152) on my motorcycle all the time. Big, long, straight roads with nothing on them here in South Texas! :D Him wiping out at that speed would be almost as bad as wiping out on the bike...at least he wouldn't have to worry about getting caught under the bike or getting hit by flying bike body parts! :Q

So does anyone have a FS thread for those roller blades? How much do they cost?

<< WTF is a "rolling stoppie", as referred to in the picture caption??? >>

slowing down without using brakes.
which makes sense because you don't want the rollerblader to get caught under the back wheel... hehe...

but I don't understand the joke though.
