Check your manual because older boards and especially processors force the ram speed to 166Mhz if use more than 2 sticks. New processors such as Venice and San Diego use E3 coding which allows for keeping speed at 200Mhz. I wanted to use my 2x256 and one 512 stick only to find out my system will not even boot with that combination
