This monitor is simply awesome! Not a single stuck pixel, Half-Life 2 looks amazing in widescreen, and the HD content fits perfectly. Yay for new monitors 🙂

And you probably have an A panel 😛

Not to rain on your parade, but I've found that the viewing angle problem for TN panels is a lot worse than I thought. My old 19" crappy monitor was too small to have viewing angle problems, but bigger monitors exhibit this problem more...

but in any case, the 226 is a very nice monitor 🙂 I have it's little brother, the 216, and I'm happy with it (besides that viewing angle thing).

what makes you think he has an A panel? I don't think they are making those anymore.

Nothing, I was making fun of the people who complain about the different 226BW panels.

I wonder how 1920x1080 fits on 1680x1050.

z0mg the downscaling h0rr0r :Q

Maybe he means 720p 😉

I love how HD content fits on this monitor too 😀
1080p scales up nicely, & i manually upscale 720p to 1440p 😉

I'm honestly not sure what the res is, I think it's 1080 though. I downloaded the Naruto third movie in full HD, like 4.3GB or something, barely runs but it looks fantastic on here. It still has some bars along the top so obviously it's still being scaled down a bit, but looks way better than on my wife's 17" LCD that I was using before.

Alot of people make a big deal out of the viewing angle problem for TN panels. I own a 225BW and love it, my computer is in my room and I watch movies on it from by bed and have no issues at all with viewing angles. To each his own I guess, but with my current setup it was never an issue.

There is a big difference in TN panels ... My 14x9 ACER is terrible in vertical viewing angles even a few inches off center; Horizontal viewing is fine.

otoh, last week i got a brand new 16x10 20.1" Samsung 205BW [at Staples for $135] that is OK in the vertical ... not as good as an ISO panel but decent for watching movies from the couch

world of difference ... i got a *keeper* now
😀
