Actually, it's a bundle deal.
You get the Seagate 160gb HD and the eTrust Internet Security Suite 2006.

Info on the eTrust ISS 2006:
eTrust® Internet Security Suite provides comprehensive protection against viruses, hackers, identity thieves, spyware, spam and other online threats that can jeopardize your privacy, your data, and your PC?s performance.

There are 3 Rebates with this deal totalling $115.
You have to pay $144.99 up front, so the final price comes out to $30.
$144.99 - $45 - $40 - $30 = $29.99

I hate rebates, so I'll pass.
But if you don't mind the hassles of the 3 separate rebates, then this is a pretty good deal.

Got shafted on 2 of 2 rebates on my last order from tiger direct. The rebate guarantee is BS. Who uses delivery confirmation on a rebate?

$115 rebate is too much to put on the line for 160GB. The only way TD can offer this is if they count on the majority of rebates to be rejected or people to fail to send them in.

IF it works, it is hot, but I don't want to take the chance of paying $145 for a 160GB disk.
