1600xp overlock help! first upgrade in 4 years

Hey Guys,

I put together my system last night. I'm really rusty on the overclocking thing and need some help. here's my setup:

1600xp green aoiga (spelling?)
Asus A7V333
samsung 512mb orig. ram from newegg.

What's the proper method for incrementally moving up in speed to test etc? i.e 1st multiplier & speed, 2nd, 3rd etc.

also at what point do you start adding more voltage to the cpu & ram to stablize?

lastly are there any risks or permanent damage that can be avoided by slowly incementing the multiplier, speed, and voltage to cpu & ram?
