1600x1200 DVI on Ti4600

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could verify for me that the Ti4600 supports a DVI resolution of 1600 x 1200 as I have a Dell 2001fp that requires this natively.

Other suggestions of a video card that supports these resolutions would be appreciated. I have a Parhelia that supports it fine but it has no color or brightness adjustments from the software. All I can adjust are DVD playback color and such or text gamma.

Yes, Ti4600 should have no problem with supporting 1600 x 1200 via DVI. Pretty much any modern card will support every resolution up to 2048 x 1536.

Thanks, you gave a reply just in time 🙂 I just snagged a new dual DVI Ti4600 MSI off Ebay. Much appreciated 😀

Not on DVI. The maximum pixel clock on single-channel DVI is 165 MHz. That just so does for 1600x1200 at 60 Hz; widescreen 1920x1200 already requires the refresh rate lowered to about 50 Hz.

High end DVI panels use dual or even quad channel connections, something that is unavailable on any consumer grade card, not even the most expensive ones.

they better find some new standard then, cous 1600x1200 is getting mainstream more and more these days.
