There's the product. I try setting it to 8-8-8-24. The auto defaults to 7-7-7-30. When I set it to 8X multiplier instead of 5.33 it goes up to 1600. It's supposedly rated at that, but it locks the system up if I adjust it to that. Even if I leave the auto defaults in for the additional values, when the multiplier takes the memory to 1600 the BIOS tests the memory and BAM nothing. I have to cold boot.
It's a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard. I just updated the BIOS to the most recent to fix a problem with Windows XP x64 only seeing it as a 1.6 GHz processor. Now it's seeing the processor correctly. So I thought I'd try and run the memory at the speed it's supposed to be run at. But it's not working... anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
