16 ms LCDS

The Nec 1760NX is great, I got one myself, all the 16ms displays use the same panel, but they are not all alike, they use different backlights and such, which may look/work better or worse, and something you should make sure u get one with is a DVI input, much better than old analog input.

I have the 1760V (analog version) and it kicks ass. I can't say it's better than the nx since I've never seen it but I'm quite content with mine.

I got the Planar. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still go Planar. Warranty is great too. PX171M all the way.

I have the CML174, in fact I'm using it post right now.... it's the best LCD I've seen out there that isn't insanely expensive. Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

1760NX here. I looked at the CML174, but it was lacking one feature that I use a lot. There is no easy way to switch between the analog and DVI inputs for use as a dual input monitor. I have 2 PC's connected to the NEC, and its just a single button touch to switch between them. The Hitachi was like a 4 button trip through the OSD menu.

I absolutely agree! 🙂

Yea DVI gotta be included i think i checked that NEC at Newegg, says it doesn't include DVI
The 1760NX does support DVI, but it doesn't include a DVI cable. Is that what you meant, or were you looking at the 1760V at Newegg (the one w/o DVI)?

With your requirements (assuming you need a DVI cable included), the Hitachi CML174 is your only choice.

Wow, I did not know about that monitor, thanks for introducing the thread to it. It has 16ms response time, DVI + cable, and can be had for $468 shipped. So there are actually two choices 🙂

Well, the white/grey 1760NX is $451 shipped at newegg. I paid $475 for mine a couple months ago.

The white 1760NX is absolutely awesome. Best computer part purchase ever. Super clear and bright, the color is outstanding and 16ms performance, plus the DVI input. I would buy one again without even thinking about it and I can't say that about all of my parts purchases. I would get the same color and everything. It is a very stylish monitor and everybody who sees it raves at how cool it is. 🙂

Huh... I got an 17" 16ms analog Hyundai L70S for $300... image quality is fine as far as I can see, extremely bright pannel too.

Nec 1760NX user here. I ordered the Dell 1901 LCD and 1760NX at the same time. Neither of which came with the DVI-D cable you will need.

I got the 1901 first and used it for a week. I was going to return the 1760NX w/o opening it because I figured 1280*1024 was too much for a 17".

I was wrong.

When I hooked up the 1760NX was stunned by the lack of ghosting. I figured that the 1901 was "not that bad". After an additional week, the 1760NX will be staying on my desktop. The LCD has both D-Sub (analog) and DVI-D (digital) inputs. It does come with a D-Sub cable.

Both LCD's had one dead pixel in the corner. But with a native res of 1280, you will not be likely to notice without a LCD test program.
