Stupid Shark, biting a rotating propeller is very stupid, but biting the motor shaft above the propeller is somewhat smarter.

A shark version of a swirly. As they later found a sharks tooth embedded in the propeller.
But that bite had to hurt the shark's mouth. Maybe a 20 foot Great white could have cut to the chase and busted the shear pin.

No that would not work either, gasoline does not burn underwater.

I tend to think what is needed is a harpoon with a small exploding charge in its tip. It can't be too big of a charge or you sink your own boat.

Yup, you can see the smoke from them firing it up in the video. Not only that, but most boat engine props aren't even spinning when a boat is at idle.

Same thing happened to me once when I was fishing down in The Keys, except the one that tried to eat my skiff's Yamaha was a bull shark, not a white (water is too warm down there I guess)

I didn't get any souvenir teeth fragments, but getting to beat a shark's ass with a gaff was just fantastic. The two people I had with me were less amused.

Depends how close he is to the surface. If you could catch him exposed, out of the water, your be having shark fin soup for supper with good shot placement.
