16 color icons

Hello all,

I've had this issue driving me insane for a little while.

On my workstation, all my desktop and start menu icons seem to be stuck in 16 color. Desktop color mode though is 32 bit. 'Show icons using all possible colors' in effects is checked. I've also tried setting 'HKCU\Control Pannel\Desktop\WindowMetrics\Shell Icon BPP' to both 16 and 32. Seems anything I do does not affect it.

The PC is in a domain, so the only thing I can think of is perhaps a group policy setting.

Any ideas?
