16 bit windows sub system what is this?

trying to load win bench 99 on my computer pent 4 2.5 ghz running win2000pro I get this message_systrem\currentcontrolset\control\virtualDeviceDrivers.vdd.virtualDeviceDriverFormatintheRegistryisInvalid.choose closeto terminate the application
What does this mean and can I fix it

Some problem with WOW (Win16 on Win32) perhaps. Dig around on the MS kbase for an answer but you might try re-service packing to fix it.

If a benchmark is using the Win16 subsystem it might not be very good at what it does though!
