16:9 monitor or 4:3 monitor

I use my monitor only for the computer, not much for viewing movies, that's what widescreen TVs are for.
But they have a pretty sweet deal on a 19" Samsung near me, and I currently have a real kick ass Dell 19" 4:3.

With the widescreen, I'd be losing some height, and not gaining much in width (WHEN, viewing websites, as they're all designed for 4:3 ratios).
What do you guys think?

Pops, needs a new monitor, he wants a 4:3 type, and I'm considering giving him mine and pay the difference on the new 16:9.
Here's the 19"

LCDs are typically 5:4 (non-widescreen) or 16:10 (widescreen), so true 16:9 material will be lettereboxed slightly.

For general purpose computing and viewing 4:3 source material, I prefer 5:4 non-widescreen displays because you can see more a webpage at once and horizontal black bars on the top and bottom seem much better than vertical black bars on the sides (pillar boxing).

16:9 makes you a more productive office worker, you can display two windows at the same time with out them overlaping.

I'm sticking with my 4:3 and getting pops another 4:3.
Widescreen maybe a 24" inch when they drop in price in a few years.
thanks Purdue, Mshan.
