As said in my last post, I had no interest in wide angle photography. It was so for a long time then, all of the sudden, I wanted to give it a try.
After reviewing all those wide angle lenses I could get, I decided to go extreme. I got 180 degree 15mm fisheye lens: the lens that offers the most angle without tunnel effect.

When I mounted it for the first time, I was just blown away by the angle it offers. I could even see my own finger holding the lens!
I loved the distortion, too. Such a fun lens.

However, the problem was that it wasn't pratical enough.
With this lens, landscape was excellent, still life was interesting, portrait was fun but it wore out quickly not to mention girls hating it.

I would've kept it if I had another wide angle lens but since it's not the case, it's now sitting in the box waiting to be returned.
In the end, I ended up getting 17-40L f/4 but I know for sure I'll get that 15mm again once I'm done with pratical lens setup.

I like the effect made by the 15mm fish, i'll have to get one someday!

Somehow I feel that the 17-35 2.8L isn't wide enough on my 1D Mark II.

Are you stationed in Korea?

I'm not sure how it'd be on your 1.3x 1d mk2. I've tried that lens on 30D and due to the 1.6x crop factor, it didn't seem much like a fisheye lens.

BTW, I'm Korean living in Canada.

If you go to photo.net and search for the portfolio of a fellow named Al Kaplan, you can check out some of his quite awesome work with a 15mm wideangle. He uses it on a 35mm rangefinder, and most of the photos are of random scenes of his own life, taken by stretching his arm out to the side and hitting the shutter release with his thumb. It's very cool stuff.

I wonder if I can afford to add a fisheye to the toychest...:D
