15k Ultrastar problems

I have a pair of IBM 18GB 15k RPM drives, which have crashed on me twice now. I think I'm allowing them to overheat. Looking for others with experiences with successes and failures with keeping these drives happy.

3 crashes now. Surely somebody has used these drives.
