My Dad got sideswiped in his 2005 Honda Accord and just got his insurance check today. He's fine, but now I wanting something more to haul stuff in.

He wants a CRV, Escape, Rav 4, Forester, and possibly an outback.

AWD, automatic, moonroof are his only wants besides the standard power locks/windows A/C.

I've looked at various Rav 4's and some have V6's, some have 3rd row seating.

Ford Escapes are decent and the most reasonable price, but honestly its last on the list right now.

Forester is hard to find, and CRV's are either overpriced or now the EX AWD model (moonroof and 4wd).

I haven't seen many outbacks, and I'm not sure if stepping up to a pilot/highlander is worth it.

Suggestions? Or just keep looking?

In that class the Rav4 V6 is a pretty peppy little package. Very gutsy motor that really doesn't give up a lot of economy over a 4 cylinder. Versatile storage/seating options and can be optioned about any way you want.

Have a look at the 1st generation Saturn Vue - the V6 model used a Honda V6. They are spacious, powerful, and pretty damn bulletproof.

CRV's are also a great choice but its 4cyl power only.

Mercury Mariner V6 - Same as the Excape but since it was a Mercury most models have higher features as dealers ordered them loaded up.

Ford Taurus X - These should be in his price range - a larger car based SUV/Wagon with a big 3.5L V6 and humongous interior space. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item232cfcd79d&vxp=mtr

Juke's storage space is pretty blah. I so wanted to get this car when it came out. I would recommend the Forester or Rav4.
