<--- has wayyyy too many asian friends at the UW who type like that.

UW really is Asian central, they're everywhere.

lol

First time in my life I felt like a minority - walking down the Ave one day and I looked up, did a double take, and realized I was the only white person within a crowd extending like twenty feet in either direction, everyone else was asian. :Q

Uhm that's not a pic of me ... I am a male but that is someone I know on b.net that is from WA that plays sc .. don't msg me damn it!

Which big 4 in seattle did you get? I took a tour of Deloitte a few years back along with Safeco.

You live in seattle right? So if you took the job there you would save some relocation hassle and probably some money?

Yes, that's one of the big factors I'm considering.

its not a big factor, that is the last thing you should worry about, in 5 years you'll look back and laugh that you were sweating a couple of thousand dollars. And don't be afraid of hard work now, at least for me i'd much rather work hard now for the next 10 years then work 50 hour weeks when i am 40.

It's only a summer internship, not a fulltime job relocation

i've never been to the actual west coast (unless you consider vegas/phoenix west coast) but without knowing much about the two cities myself, i'd be inclined to say san jose because it's california and there are plenty of things to do in california.

if you're already in seattle and you can get reimbursed for relocating, definitely go for the change. who knows -- maybe you will love it and choose to live there after you graduate.

What pics are we talking about here

While I think moving and trying out a new city that early in your life is a good thing, I'd still tell you to stay in Seattle.

The cost of living in the San Jose, coupled with the traffic would definately be large negatives for myself. My girlfriend grew up in South San Fran, and while she likes the Bay Area, she's much more comftarble here in Seattle.

Me 2!!!

acctg ??? <what's that?

I would say San Jose because the Weather is better than Seattle, but if you are already used to all the rain... then it probably wouldn't be as big of a factor for you...

yay i'm part of the majority...

haha, but it's the truth...

UW_AZN++

san Jose or seattle hmmm.
probably both liberal as all get out.
cal to hot no trees. seattle too wet forests, ocean, mountains.
california- gangs seattle coffee
cal earthquakes u will fall into ocean...seattle volcanos and the big ones coming some day.
cal..swartznegger wash Gregoire...cough cough
california sports teams better seattle sports teams suck except bball this year.
cal blondes..wash brunetts dyed blond.
cal commuting 2 hrs 1 way seattle commuting 1 hour each way.

^wtf

I'd say San Jose, just because you are only young once and this would be the perfect opportunity to try out a new city.
Where in San Jose will you be working in? The city is pretty big and you'll have a really nice and affluent area on one hand and in the other it will be pretty ghetto.

If you like wall to wall people, high cost of living, traffic gridlock and bucket headed yuppies where ever you look then pick San Jose. Yeah it's close to the beach and mountains which is important because you'll need to escape the suffocating mass of humanity from time to time to keep your sanity. It use to be one of the best places to live prior to the Dot Com Boom but the quality of life has really suffered since. Yeah there are some cool places to live in Santa Clara Valley but being an Intern you'll never be able to afford to live in them.

On the bright side the weather is great and the Earthquakes are more exciting than dangerous.

sj.. 1 hr from santa cruz for beach, tons of camping within 1-3 hours.. 4 hrs is tahoe skiing... meh. seattle is rain.

Seattle, by far. I've lived far too long in this godforsaken place called the Bay Area. honestly, don't come here if you have a choice not to.

Is it a summer internship? At least you won't be in busy season then 🙂

I'm so glad all the public companies have to file this week! Private companies mean less hours for the next few weeks I hope

Go w/ whichever one is EY
