Wonder how it corners. Not that it really matters with that kind of straight-line speed.

What's the difference between a 500HP Supra and a 800HP Supra?

None, they both do 10 second quarter miles. :p

(I hope I didn't massacre the joke too badly)

It runs an eight second quarter mile...and I really doubt you'll shift a manual trans faster than that auto can shift. Last I checked, the fastest manual Supra was in the 9-second range.

I don't think theres a clutch or flywheel that can handle that much power.

Kinda my point. I wouldn't buy a drag car to go around corners, so the cornering doesn't matter. :)

Looks very well put-together.

ever seen the drag cars? all they do is pull a lever back and it switches gear, no manual clutch nothing, but those trannys last all of like one full day. and then the clutch is gone

How do think automatic transmissions work? Magic?

Well that's not fair, they do utilize several forms of magic, unexplainable by non-witch doctors, but they DO have clutches.

Plenty of flywheels. You're thinking of pressure plates.

They do exist, but the pedal effort is insane.

Clutches can handle ridiculous amounts of power. A Top Fuel transmission basically consists of a clutch (no gears).

No, it's a complex series of clutch discs that slip a certain amount..as they go down the track all the discs basically weld themselves together, making it virtually direct-drive past the halfway point on the track..

Don't expect the engine/tranny and many other parts to last a tremendous amount of miles on this car either though.
