Sleep with the boss?

:Q😀
It was interesting and amusing proposal but in this case it is not really viable.Due to the apparent buyout of the company there might be multiple bosses/corporate executives in power so you can't just sleep with just one..😀

If you request, they will just say bye-bye, meaning you won't get anything, especially since you are so low on the totem pole.

That's a tricky one. Luckily when my company went through something similar, they made it easy to request it and encouraged it from those who wanted it. It made it easier on them to not have to determine who was going to go.

If you have a good relationship with your boss, I'd speak to her/him about it.

All your questions are answered by two films. First, watch "American Beauty" then "Office Space" in case the American Beauty scenario doesnt work for ya.

Thanks Megatomic, that's a nice thought... unfortunately, there are only 3 people who do what I do (my micro-division consists of me, my boss, and my coworker/the manager) and it's a very specialized area. I think the new company might actually need me to stick around to help them with the newly acquired assets, etc. 🙁

Dammit, that's what I'm afraid of. 🙁 So there's basically nothing I can do except keep my mouth shut and hope for the best?

Just ask.

I did it years ago at Sears.

Thanks Brutuskend... may I ask how exactly you phrased it, and did you ask your old company or the new one that bought it out? (is that how it worked?)

Well my situation may have been a bit different. They were laying off the part timers and new guys and since I had been there for several years, I just told them they would save more money by laying ME off since I was paid more.

They laid me off, but said if I ever wanted my job back I could have it!

(I didn't... 🙂 )

Ah, you're in the same boat as the boss and the manager, then... they'll save money by keeping me on, unfortunately. *sigh*

Request to be laidoff? Uh, right.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people ask for it. Especially here at HP where lay-offs are an Olympic sport for management looking to slash costs and look good for Carly.

Doesn't seem like a smart/logical thing to do. It could be construed as a desire to resign, which would save the company even more money.
