Hi, you guys must be tired of these threads by now, but please give me input on this one, it's been a while since the last time I've built a PC.

I've got a cut-n-paste of my basket in monarch:

Antec True Power 2 550 SLI ATX 12V 550W Power Supply $135.00 $135.00
eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB DDR3/PCI-E/VIVO/Dual-DVI (Retail Box) $430.00 $430.00
Maxtor (6B250S0) DiamondMax Plus 10 250GB SATA 7200 RPM 16MB Cache $114.00 $114.00
BenQ 1620PRO DVD±RW Dual Layer 16x4x16x-DVD±RW (Black) (OEM) $51.00 $51.00
Shin-Etsu G675 Thermal Grease (Installation Only) $14.00 $14.00
Pre-Tested and Setup AMD Athlon 64/FX/X2 (939) Combo $0.00 $0.00
Motherboard: 110301 - DFI NF4 SLI Infinity Audio/GB-LAN/IEEE/PC $135.00 $135.00
Processor: 120364 - AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual-Core 512K Per $369.00 $369.00
Heatsink Fan: 130099 - Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu Silent CPU Cooling $42.00 $42.00
Memory: 140346 - DDR (400) 3200 - 2 GB (2 pcs 1GB) OCZ (OC $201.00 $201.00

Order Total: $1,491.00

I'm salvaging my Antec 1080 case and SB Live. I have an Antec 430 TruePower but it's the 20 pin one and as far as I understand (and I understand very little) that's not going to be enough. I do want the SLI part because it's better for me to get a card later than do this whole thing all over again - I'd like to keep this for a couple of years.

Thanks in advace!

why is that? what are you talking about?

anyway, you should get a thermalright xp90 instead of the zalman. its cheaper and way better.

looks good otherwise.

Why? Adjustable resolutions means you can run your games at 1600x1200 while maintaining a reasonable-sized desktop. Can't do that with LCD's.

And yes, drop by svc.com and pick up an XP-90-Panaflo combo. It's $30, I believe. Also, you don't need that much power for a single-card system. The Truepower 2.0 480W is more than suitable and is $100 shipped at Newegg.com :)
