Hey all,
I have had a 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 for the past two years and its time I upgrade.
I am running Windows XP on a TBird 1.2ghz w/ 640meg ram
I do moderate amount of gaming... mostly unreal tournament... and nhl 2k2..
what is the best way for me to go... a higher end geforce2 or lower end g3.. maybe a radeon card???

help me out folks...

I just saw this for $131 shipped
GAINWARD CARDEXPERT GEFORCE2 TI500 TITANIUM VIVO 64MB DDR (RETAIL)

Yes, it is just the Geforce 2 Ti with 4ns ram. I have one running 295/522. I haven't found a game yet it couldn't handle, when I do then maybe Geforce 3 time.

It's just a regular GF2 Ti with 4ns RAM to ensure some nice overclockability.
If you want VIVO then that's a hell of a card for the money.
If you don't need/want Video In/Video Out then you can get a GF3 Ti200 for about $30 more.

is it worth the extra $30?
or is this better?

Overclocked the GF2 Ti/500 could match the stock 16bit performance of the GF3 Ti200, but the GF3 will still have better 32bit performance.
If you don't need the VIVO on the GF2 I'd probably say it's well worth spending the extra $30 on the GF3.

I would definitely MUCH prefer the Gainward F3 over the MSI model, I'm not at all fond of MSI's cards personally.

I was thinking about getting the GF2Ti, myself, but I think I'm going to go with a Radeon, as I need good 2D more than 3D. At buyeee.com you can get the Ti with 3.8ns RAM for only $6 more. That will give you an extra 10mhz or so in mem overclocking.

Going from the Voodoo3 3000 also...

Finally decided that the card was getting too outdated.

After much deliberation, went with the GF2 Ti 200. I went with that 'cause I don't want to spend too much
now; I'm gonna wait for the next generation of cards to come before I spend some serious cash.

Besides, for under $100 shipped, it should play everything I want. And that's the goal.
