If you have a Citi CC you can get $150 after you jump through a few hoops. They are:

1. Deposit $1500
2. Pay 2 bills a month for 6 months. Bills must be over $20.

There is a promo code I can PM you if interested.

I got in on the $200 cash back deal in January. My first $100 is due next month (90 days after second statement showing you used the billpay 2x/mo), and the second $100 due a year from now. Hope they come through with it and don't try to weasel out of paying. Good deal if you can park the $1500. Caveat: $1500 is also the minimum balance on their EZ Checking account, and you'll get a monthly svc charge if you go under it. Fortunately, it's based on *average* balance during the month instead of daily, like most banks.

You will get charged if you don't have direct deposit and go under 1500. Safe if you do have direct deposit.

Correct -- either condition is enough to avoid monthly fees. I just checked my new customer booklet. For EZ Checking "...if you have a Direct Deposit made into your account during the statement period, we will waive the monthly maintenance and per check fees. Another way to avoid fees is to meet the low minimum combined average balance of $1500 in linked FDIC-insured deposit accounts."

They define lined accounts as including the Regular Checking account included with the EZ Checking deal, and any savings accts you have with Citi. I've had four statements now, and no monthly fees, without having Direct Deposit.

Ya know, lots of credit cards give you 0% APR and no fees for first balance transfers. So if the Citi card does just that, make a balance transfer of 1500 to your checking, wait it out and pocket the $ without setting aside any of your cash. :)
