Those of you who regularly read Engadget and Gizmodo probably saw this earlier today:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/0...laptop-for-the-people/
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/che...-150-laptop-282258.php
For weirdness, check this out:
Upon visiting the Medison website, you see the following Key Features:
* Intel® Celeron 1.5 GHz CPU
* 14" Widescreen X-bright LCD
* 256 MB Ram memory
* 40 GB Hard Drive
* 802.11g Wireless LAN
* Optimized Linux operating system
* Pre-installed office and multimedia applications
http://www.medisoncelebrity.com/product.html
So, just for kicks, I tried the BUY NOW option, which confirmed the US$150 laptop to cost the equivalent of CAD$162.21 (!)
They are sold through www.2checkout.com, an Ohio-based firm:
2CO.com 1785 O?Brien Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43228
Strangely enough, once I entered an Ottawa address in that order form, all I got for shipping options was "Free shipping to Scandinavia", nothing else.
So... if you have relatives, friends, or plan a trip to that part of the world, this is a great deal!
