hey,

i was lookin to get some more DVD+R's and came across these at thetechgeek.com. I waited till they arrived here so i would know how good they are before telling you, and so far, no costers, and ive used about half of them so far, both on movies and data. for only 27.99, this is really nice, i might have to buy another They shipped them out fast, too, so i'd definitly buy from them again.cheers!

The disc looked very cheap and ugly.
I will not buy it if I were you. I bought 125 last week.
The 100 for $20 from Crapusa look better.

Man, these are cheap. I wonder how'd they work in my NEC-3520a?? These would be good to give some of my buds, that have been asking me for discs lately.

Just a word of warning on these blanks. IMHO, they are pretty much junk. Probably OK for utility disks, but I wouldn't want to rely on them.

I bought a hundred of the -R variety a couple of weeks ago and the first five burned OK in my NEC 2510. I thought I had hit on something good, since 20 cents a disk seemed nice, however they sure fooled me. Recently, I changed to a faster burner, a Sony 16X, and I've burned 4 worthless disks in a row. They appeared to burn OK and even passed verification, but were filled with gaps and pauses. Upon examining some of the coasters, the coating and/or dye appeared to have bubbles in it, like a bad spray paint job.

I was determned to make them work with this burner, so I even went so far as to flash it over to Lite-On firmware. Things improved slightly, but still not enough to call it right. I burned the items I needed with some Ritek disks and everything was back to normal.

In all fairness, I haven't tried these again with my NEC burner and they might do just fine with it, however I don't think I'd be willing to rely on these for anything that was important to me. I think this is definitely a case of getting exactly what you pay for. I don't think I'll be buying any more of these, no matter how cheap they get.
