This is an especially good deal if you were planning to buy a PS3 or other Sony gear.

In addition to the $150 card credit you get after your $299 (or greater) purchase, you'll earn 8 Sony Reward points for each $1 spent between August 1st and September 30th, 2007. That's about $24 worth of points (2400) on a $300 purchase.

Here's a link to the offer:

Hmm, this could be good.......if you want a PS3. But you would have to charge the $499 plus tax and then on your next bill you get a $150 credit? So your total amount owed would be $349 plus the tax?

Heh, they've gotten wise - you used to be able to get a $100/$150 credit for any purchase, anywhere. Guess they got tired of paying that out multiple times to folks like me. ;)

So yeah, how does the credit work? I might pick up one of Sony's new ultraportable laptops in the fall. Say I buy something today, when does the credit take place and it's just an automatic $150 off of my statement balance?

Yep it just comes right off your balance, but you never know when they will issue the credit, could take up to a couple of months to get it. And you'd have to buy that Sony laptop from sonystyle.com or a Sony store (ouch).

I got in on the $100 credit after any first purchase deal a while back. They deferred my app and called me today to clear up a few questions. In any event as a college student with a wimpy income I got a CC with $2.5K CL. It should be 0% APR on purchases for 1 year with the $100 credit. I just love scre... err, I mean, utilizing CC companies' offers ;)

So this is just for new customers only, not for current Sony Visa holders?

I am so hesitant at jumping on getting the DSC-W90 digittal camera for half off, I wonder if the price will drop before the 31st or not. I am really not interested in the PS3 until Final Fantasy XIII comes out on it but by then the prices will be close to $350 I imagine. Decisions decisions!

Thanks Op!

I just bought a Sony DSLR, even w/ the Sony price being $75 higher then BestBuy, this would have been a great deal.

Do you remember VA and the early paypal days? I made $2500 on paypal referrals and don't even get me started on VA.

I'm waiting for FF also. The price might drop when FF comes out but I went ahead with this deal anyway. Sony got me good. I don't want these new 80 gb PS3's with lesser support for PS2 games. Since the 60 gb models aren't being made anymore, I will have to buy now.

Does anybody know if this deal only works if you are instatly qualified? I enterd info and got "we will notify you by mail". I recieved the card yesterday. Can I buy something on Sony style for $299+ and get my $150 off or was it only with that instant qualify? I read the terms and it appears I get it as long as I applied online, qualified for a card and make my purchase for the required ammount before the deadline. or am i missing something? I kinda want a PS3, but only if i can get the $150 off.

thanks!

Does anybody know if the $299 has to be a single purchase, or can it be the order total?

order total I believe it says on first order (could be anything) of $299. Im gonna wait until the ps2's drop in Nov to prolly $100 and buy three and sell them on amazon for $170 each and get my $150 back

should be around $250 profit.

you also get 5k rewards points good for a new free PS3 game to sell as well. $$$ But that has to be done by the end of sept.

Yup this deal is not hot at all except for limited instances such as buying a PS3.

I got in on the $100 credit for any purchase, anywhere deal about a month and half ago. Got the $100 credit a week or two back. Upgraded my computer for $75 instead of $225 after I sold the old processor for $50.
