$150 agp upgrade

I am looking to upgrade from a 9600 radeon that I mostly play COD2 on. I have it at 1024 with no eye candy on and it runs fine but I want to play FEAR and I know it wont run that. I have a Compaq with an athlon XP 2600 with a gig of ram. Which is better, the 6600 gt or a X1600 pro or maybe a 6800 non gt. Remember this is AGP, thx for the help guys.

6800 that can softmod would be the best, and then the 6600gt and x1600pro are like equal...but get a 6800 if you can.

rivatuner is the easiest way to unlock the extra pipes, it's 50/50 chance that any 6800nu will unlock without artifacts regardless of which brand it is (i had a apollo 6800nu that unlocked, my friend had a XFX that didn't). the 6800gs is out of you price range, but if you can scrap up the extra $50, it's the better choice bewteen the 6600gt and x1600pro.

it's hard to find a new 6800nu...eVGA and BFG or the best two brands i can think of also you might want to check out ebay eVGA 6800

I've had good luck with evga and leadtek cards.

Had an evga 6800 unlocked 16/6 and oc'ed with an NV silencer on it(410/875) that would get me just over 12.5k in 3D mark 03. Nice cards. GL
