Good driving, but this dude got 11 life terms for his antics.

What kind of asshole attitude is that for a policeman to have! "I wanted to kill him"

Those two got waaaay to angry!
The guy was shooting at them.
I'd want to kill him before he killed me, which probably what the officer was saying before the creative editing.

True, but other statements like "i just wanted him to experience the feeling of bullets flying his way" make that officer seem to have quite an unprofessional attitude!

Also, the driver's job wasn't to kill him, it was to apprehend him, seems like he's letting his personal feeling get in the way of his job. What did he hope to accomplish by crashing into him at ~60mph?

Because your vast police experience makes you so qualified to criticize them...

That cop was way too gung-ho. He intentionally crashed his cruiser into the suspect's car which broke his fellow officer's leg.

The guy was getting out of the car with a gun in his hand, and he had shot at them previously. Is there any way he could have stopped the car and provided both of them with cover as they got out of the cruiser? I think the way the chase ended was pretty close to the best possible outcome. There were a few injuries, but nobody died.

Too bad, really. Now the state of Montana has to pay millions of dollars to keep another worthless piece of sh!t in jail for many years to come.

Umm, yeah, no. That's exactly what he should have done. He should have sped up though.

I gladly give them a pass since the asshole they were chasing fired shots at them. Some son-of-a-bitch takes a shot at a cop and he deserves the sh!t storm that rightfully rains down on him. Fvcker deserved to die. :|

What does "umm yeah no" mean? Is that from Napoleon Dynamite or something, or do you just talk like that guy?

whoa, that other vid was pretty crazy as well...

Why would the the show fake that the Bmw broke down and actually edit the movie to make it look like that? Seems pretty unprofessional to me...

They don't want to make the kid into some type of hero.
But yeah, it's certainly unprofessional if that's what happened.

How?! What he was saying is that he returned fire to put the perp on the defense because otherwise the asshole very likely would have had the drop on him and killed him.

If the officer had said "I wanted to get a headshot and give him a closed casket funeral." that would have been unprofessional......I wouldn't have held it against him though.

I'd like to see what you'd say and/or do if you were put in that situation.

Peace and love has a place, it just wasn't here.

Edit: I paused it during my earlier reply to you, but just heard the "I wanted to kill him" remark....that was a bit over the top.

Because the only car that apparently could keep up with the BMW and keep a camera on it was taken out of commission, therefore they didn't have a camera to complete the footage, or they couldn't get ahold of camera footage from later in the chase. Television is absolutely no good without video, so they had to fabricate something to stick in there.

Weak, even today's M3s have far more power. My friend totally lost the cops in his M3 on I-280. He had a picture of him hitting 167, and had to be pulled over by helicopter in the end.

He's so awesome!

But they had the cops lie and all saying that the car broke down... If they guy got away I don't think they should even air it, instead of repeating something inaccurate.

I wouldn't say he was driving better than the police officer. The police officer was trying to stick with him, and also not be as reckless, and swerved to avoid what he thought would be a collision. I would say the officer was a very good driver.

No doubt he was, but at the same time the kid anticipated and reacted to every tactic the cops tried on him. The only reason he stopped was because of his car's breakdown. Also, the cop, IMHO, was more than reckless chasing the kid at that high of speed. A stolen car is not worth the lives of drivers that both the kid and the cop put at risk by driving at that speed on a freeway. Had they resorted to a chopper chase and used spike strip tactics without the chase, they may have caught the driver off guard.

Yeah, I did not get the point of having another vehicle serving through traffic at equally dangerous speeds... Why not have a chopper track him, and set up roadblocks, what are you going to do going that fast, trying to nudge his car into a spin is out of the question moving like that... Besides, losing a chopper is more difficult than losing a car.
