15" or 17" LCD TV's Whats good & Cheap?

This will be a gift for my mom to use as her bedroom TV. Replacing a 13" CRT. She only has basic cable but uses a combo DVD/VHS most of the time.

Space is definitely a concern as well as price.

The Philips outlet has numerous 15" LCD TV's & Monitors on sale for $145.

Choice #1

15" too small, go for the 20, i bet 15"'s won't exist anymore very soon you know. the philips 20" version is basically twice as much. but you do get a massive amount image more than a 15". old folks would benifit since their eyes are getting weaker no? plus it should last quite a while

She is going from a 13" CRT to a 15" LCD. That is a massive difference in screen size. Her bedroom is about 10x12 as well as she lives in a small victorian.

After looking at 20", they are too big.

its hard to believe a 20" is too big even in a small room. its not like a tube tv where you are very limited where you can place it because of the huge rear end. you can put these most anywhere.

I bought a 19" Polaroid LCD this past summer for $299 or so at Circuit City. It works nice, but the HD isn't that great when compared to my 55" Sony. I don't think it's because of the TV though, I think it's because it's so much smaller.
