15" LCD monitor

Hello, I'm in the market for a new LCD monitor and I'm not sure which to get. Ideally I'd like the cheapest yet reliable one possible. Remember, I am a college student in a dorm so space is precious. Thanks for any help. Also would it be best to buy it on the 26th? Or are good computer deals happening now?

May want to make eyes towards a 17".

New, I've found the price premium going from a 15" to a 17" tends to be anywhere from $20 to $30 for cheapos, to sub-$50 for good-but-affordable LCDs.

Taking a quick look at the 'Egg, el cheapo 15"s tend to run at around $200. El cheapo 17" are at around $225 - not much of a price premium for a hefty increase in screen space.

And el cheapo LCDs are actually surprisingly decent quality-wise...but YMMV.
