Yes this is a 3rd Gen I7 and thus won't get a lot of battery life compared to the 4th Gen, it also has a dedicated graphics but too crappy to play any serious games on (casual games it does perfectly fine.)

Yet it is an ips screen, quad core i7, and medium weight. So perfectly fine for a casual family machine.

The GT 640M LE GPU has a fairly anemic passmark score but as long as you keep settings low, it will get you by with good framerates. Keep in mind you WILL be droping your resolution to 720p for current gen games, floating a little higher for older games. You probably won't do many games at a full 1080p though.

imho, if you are looking to burn $700 on a gaming laptop, just save a little more and you can do much better.

We are in an agreement even if we use other words (casual games fine, serious games no, I do not consider this a gaming laptop.)

The key factors of this laptop is that is an ips screen, kinda light, and i7 quad in other words great for a casual use, photographs, video editing, light gaming, etc.
