Update for those interested, even though this shows out of stock online, it might be available at a B&M Microsoft Store.

I just stopped by at the Boston Microsoft Store at Prudential Center around 6:30pm today (Dec 15), and although this wasn't out on display, they were able to grab one from the back. The salesman I was working with said they had a few more left, but I didn't push for specifics.

Also, at least in-store the student discount will stack with this, knocks about $50 off! You get a $25 "Windows Store" card as part of a promo deal too. Was able to get mine for $480 or so out the door.

My initial impressions: Pretty happy with it. Key travel is a bit short, but nothing to really complain about. Touchpad is meh, but I honestly don't like touchpads at all, so take that with some NaCl (even the supposedly-good Apple ones are not something I enjoy using). The screen is nice, and I will probably drop an old SSD into it once I'm sure it has no problems. Forgot how long boot times can be with a normal drive, although it isn't terrible.
