15-18% improvement in Memory Latency (Everrest) just from disabling Errata 123 in bios!

Very surprising performance boost just from disabling the Errata 123 enhancement in bios. Went from ~ 49-50ns down to 43, and from 5780 bandwidth to 6000!

huh

Though I don't think it needs explaining, in my bios (6-23-3) there is an errata 123 enhancement option, disabling it gave just under a 20% boost in memory latency performance. That's pretty significant

Could someone explain a little bit on what "Errata 123 enhancement" is?
Yes I do have a DFI board and a 4400+.

*bump* to see if anyone knows any more about this?

From what I've found it's only for dual-core and does see some boost but also has some problems.

From elsewhere:
Add Errata 123 option , select disable can increase some performance in dual core cpu but it may have problem as what this document explained.

Thje problem they're tlking about is causing some data corruption but they say this is only under certain timing conditions at low core frequencies. Check p80 for that information on the pdf.

So in short there is a fix planned for it it seems, however, for those anandtech X2 owners it shouldn't be a problem given all those overclockers 🙂

I actually post a question about what "Errata 123 enhancement" is in the DFI-Street forum, and it got removed.
