Here's the Challenge. 14 hours of non-stop flight, have an EEE 904HA with 10 hr battery. Win Xp.

What would be some good games to play that I can finish during flight?

I'm guessing with sleeping and eating and watching some in-flight movies, I probably have around 6 hours.

Remember this is on an atom (which I can o/c 2.1ghz but thats still nothing).

Perhaps some PS1 games?

I thought Vagrant story would be good. or maybe FF tactics.

Umm are you sure that battery is going ot last 10 hours when your pushing a GPU? I'm thinking more like 2-4 hours.

huhu, yep. my oem battery now only lasts 1.5 hrs so I got the monster 13000mah battery and fully tested to last around 10 hours with heavy use

but now it weighs a bit.

Hmmm BG2 sounds interesting. but one more thing, I most likely will have to use touchpad so any FPS games are out.

Have you checked with the airline? A lot of newer planes have standard AC outlets available (unless it's United and you need that ridiculously overpriced adapater) so you can plug in and not have to worry about the battery.

You won't beat BG2 in 10 hours. Maybe if you rush through the main story without doing anything else...maybe.

Even if you blitzed the main story line of BG I+II, I'm not sure you could do it in 14 hours. Maybe with a trainer/cheats.

Exactly, which is why it would be fun to read about someone else's attempt to beat it in 14 hours. I personally would never try it, I always take my time in those games. :awe:

IMO for laptop play Dosbox is your bestfriend. You can probably tear through some Space Quest and Quest for Glory games in that time. :D

Pffft easy....Civilization, you'll still be going 'just one more turn' when you land....

Not sure if your battery will hold up but Hearts of Iron 3 might work. Incredible micro details, fully pauseable game. Otherwise go with Civ4.

I've always wanted to play a flight sim while flying but I doubt your laptop would be suitable.

Have a safe flight

hmmm now playing a flight game mid air is a great IDEA!!! I will see whats playable with just keyboard and touchpad.
(thanks for many puzzle suggestions for others, I wish i haven't played zombie vs plants... its such a perfect game !)

Current suspects:
Revenge of the titans. : looks interesting
Defense Grid : will try the demo with touchpad
Civ games? : always heard good things but never tried.
