14cm modular ~800W power supplies?

I need a 14cm deep power supply for my case (Lian Li PC-V1100). I think my 480 Watt died because i drew too much power from it, so it looks like its going to need to be at least 600 Watts, preferably more.

I want one thats modular, has 8 SATA connectors, and is quiet and efficient.

The OCZ 1000PXS fits but isn't modular, doesn't have a power switch, and is apparently loud.
The SeaSonic S12 650HT isn't modular, is slightly under powered, and only has 6 SATA connectors.

I'm shocked that there are so few manufacturers making power supplies that fit the ATX spec of 14cm. =(

I might have to resort to using long screws(http://tinyurl.com/2bl278) and steel spacers (http://tinyurl.com/2z58f3) to let the power supply hang out of the case. Maybe even buy a new case.

Any one have any more ideas?

P.S. It's so hard searching through newegg without dimensions. Are they hidden or just completely missing?

Usually you need to go to a review of the unit or to the manufactures product page to find dimensions. Now 6 SATA connectors is pretty much standard for most PSUs. In general PSUs that are modular are a bit longer then most and they you also have to worry about how far the connectors stick out. You may have to get a new case or remove that wall between the PSU and drive bays though that doesn't open up much room. Thats the problem with these cases trying to cram a full tower's worth of drive space into a mid tower.

If you need 8 SATA connectors, are you really saving yourself much room in the case with a modular PSU?

DSF: Yes, I only need 1 Molex, not 9. I also only need the one graphics power connector. But i would forgive non-modularity if it fit, was quiet, and had enough power.

Closest ones in size + modular I could think of was the Ultra X-Finity 600 watt and the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650 watt which is pretty quiet, but they're 1cm too long I suppose, and btw why not just get a psu that has more molex and just stick on a molex to sata converter?

Thats what I have now and I would prefer to not have all those extra converters. It makes cable management harder with all the extra wire and plastic pieces.

What's your system specs? It's more than likely your old PSU was just crappy and failed because it felt like it. Not many systems can actually use 480W, much less 800W

Well it turned out that the CPU died, not the power supply.

My system: Athlon 64, 2GB, nVidia 7900GS, 6xWDSE16 drives, Areca 1230ML raid card, dvdrw.

I recently added the raid card and hard disks, i figured those may have put too much strain on the PSU.
