Time to go find my $50 BB gift card...brb.

Ordered, awesome. Although, I did notice something a bit odd. It was $143.99 before tax and shipping, which were $10 and $6 respectively...so shoulda been $160 before I applied my GC...yet it says they only charged $93.99 on my CC. My final order confirmation also omits tax and shipping, and also says my total was only $93.99...if this is true, merry christmas?

Will the 256 meg memory be a big performance hit over the same card at 512?

It'll be notable at higher resolutions, but at 1650x1050 and below, all other things equal, the extra memory won't be too big of a deal with most current games.

Hot! Couldn't resist and picked one up. Competition is great! 8800GTS 320MB power for cheaper than an 8600GTS?? Nice ;)

This was your original post.

You really didn't think that adding more information like the info you added above would've been helpful.

I know what a 2900 pro is. That is NOT an XT, it's a PRO. That's like saying "you can buy a 3870 for xxx. well, ok, it's not really a 3870, it's just a 3850 512 mb version, but those will easily overclock to 3870 specs, so it's basically a 3870". They DON'T all overclock to XT specs, though most do.

that is still a very good price for the PRO, however. If you have a good psu, don't mind the extra heat, and game at a resolution higher than 1680x1050, that card is probably even better than the 3850 256 mb. of course, when you factor in the extra cost it is probably NOT better, and it would be much better to try getting a deal on a 3850 512 mb.

The 2900 pro is better only for the cooling solution.. and for gaming at higher res. The 3850 beats it about half the time I believe on lower resolution. It was a good price though.
