how does that work ? We tried the calamine-type lotions at walmart when we were bitten often in Hawaii but it never really lasted.

Calamine is a joke, I tried that when I had chicken pox, helped for all of 2-5 minutes. It probably has something in it like benzocaine to numb the skin and something like benadryl to make the itch go away. As I said before I have had no need of it before but others swear by it.
