140mm fans

I have a Corsair C70 case and it will take dual 140mm fans, should I buy some?

My mobo ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS but I don't know if that effects my choice to get additional fans or not.

i've read that the selection on non-120mm fans is pretty lacking, however that doesn't mean you won't find good fans.

in the 120mm range the silent performers are supposedly truly outstanding... which makes me choose 120 over 140

Thermalright TY-140 is good.

I kinda wish the Antec 1100 would take 140mm fans (there's totally room for them if they just changed the plastic facade on the front panel)

The problem with the really good 120mm fans is that they are expensive or you get pretty big trade-offs between CFM, Static Pressure, and Noise.

140mm fans you can get for an affordable price ($10) with good stats in all of those categories.

There a plenty of 140mm fans out there.

140mm are typically quieter than 120mm while pushing the same amount of air (same series).

I just bought a Bit Fenix 140mm fan for my Scout case. It is quieter than the stock fan.

Thermalright 140 series are good 140mm fans. They are about $15 online.

If you already have 120mm fans in place, I would not bother unless you got money to spend or they are not working well enough.

Edit: Communism beat me to the punch on the Thermalright.

I highly recommend this model:

What's interesting is that this is a HDB fan with PWM, but it's not listed as such on the Newegg site. I've ordered a total of 4 of these, on two different occasions so I know they didn't just send me the wrong model. They're super quiet and work great with the PWM from my motherboard (with a 5 way splitter).
